Week 5 - The First X1 continued their excellent run in the league on Saturday.
In a tight game they ran out winners by 2 runs against. Tottington St Johns 1st
X1. Batting first they were only able to score 116 all out in 33 overs. Only 2
players scored over 20 (K Coe 24 & R Carr 25 not out). The opposition made
a confident start and at 95 for 4 looked certain to win. However, the opening
attack of Henshaw (5 for 28) and Kilner (4 for 22) returned to the attack and cleaned
up the middle order/tail in a tense finish.
There was no fixture for the 2nd X1 but several
of the team moved into the 1st X1 for the cup match on Sunday against
Hindley St Peters. Worsley batted first, reaching 160 all out. Useful
contributions came from; R Cooksey 38, T Rawding 36 and J Brocklebank 26. Hindley
St Peters reached the target comfortably for the loss of 5 wickets.
